At the 3rd International Statistics Forum held in Baku, the Republic of Uzbekistan was recognized as the regional leader in terms of the availability and timeliness of data on children within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
According to the latest UNICEF analysis, since 2020, 77% of child-related SDG indicators in Uzbekistan have at least one updated data point. This figure is significantly higher than the average for the CIS (55%) and the Europe–Central Asia region (53%). It demonstrates the high level of transparency and openness in the statistical support of social programs concerning children in the country.
This achievement shows that Uzbekistan’s statistical system is functioning effectively: regular surveys and data collection are carried out across a wide range of areas that are particularly important for social policy, child protection, and monitoring the implementation of the SDGs. Such a position makes Uzbekistan a leading country in the region, increasing the trust of international organizations and citizens in national statistics.
At the 3rd International Statistics Forum, representatives of the National Statistics Committee shared their plans to further develop monitoring systems — from introducing digital platforms for rapid data collection to expanding cooperation with the Statistics Division of the UN Economic Commission for Europe and other UN agencies.
