IMF head Kristalina Georgieva gave a high assessment of the ongoing transformations and confirmed strong support for the irreversible reforms in New Uzbekistan.
Fruitful cooperation with the Fund in the field of improving macroeconomic policy, budget and tax administration was noted with satisfaction. Our specialists regularly undergo training programs in IMF centers. This year, a joint assessment of the country’s financial sector resilience was carried out and a “roadmap” was adopted.
During the meeting, agreements were reached on further expert support from the Fund on the development of monetary and fiscal policy, transformation of the statistics system, as well as expansion of training programs for employees of economic agencies.
